Helpful Tips
Not every problem requires the attention of a professional! Check the following if your unit seems to be having a problem:
- Check the main power switch – is it switched on? Sometimes people accidentally turn it off, thinking the switch is the attic light.
- Check your circuit breaker. Sometimes the circuit breaker for the furnace will trip, which will turn it off.
- Look at your cooling condenser unit. Is it running?
- If you’re having problems with your pilot light ignition, your pilot light may have blown out. If this is the case, relight it. If you are still having a problem, call Prolific Aire.
- Check your thermostat. Is it set to cooling mode or heat?
- A frequent cause of furnace problems is a clogged air filter. If it is clogged, it will not allow the furnace to blow out hot air. It’s important to change the air filter regularly to ensure that this doesn’t happen.
